About Praxis
The business of being an artist, taught plainly.
Praxis Center for Aesthetic Studies was founded by Brainard and Delia Carey — artists, writers, and educators based in Brooklyn — who spent decades watching talented artists struggle not because their work wasn't good enough, but because no one had taught them the other half of the job.
The art world has always had an unofficial curriculum. Praxis makes it explicit, accessible, and available to any artist, anywhere in the world.
