At Millersville University, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education. Iar studied fine art with specialized interests in paintingand jewelry making. After graduation, I taught art at Reading High School for grades ten through twelve, teaching painting, drawing and jewelry making for the next six years. Although there was satisfaction in teaching, I wanted to shift focus toward creativity. As my focus developed, opportunities in art did as well. With personal advancements in technology at a Pharma company, this led me to art for healing in future years. A most important turning point in my artistic career came years later with two serious episodes of battling cancer. I continued to develop my artistic resume with watercolor societies and local venue shows while I fought cancer with the same passionate drive I have for painting. I am fully recovered, however the experience taught me that life is precious and every moment counts. This realization influenced my devotion to capture each living moment by painting prolifically while striving to communicate that life is a treasure. I continue to build relationships in Lancaster, Philadelphia, New York, Washington DC and South Carolina while maintaining the signatory status in Pennsylvania and Baltimore Watercolor Societies and a member of the Salmagundi Art Club. I have learned to think outside of the box, to look for answers that are not readily evident, and use mistakes as part of the experiment for success.

My work is an examination of life, using portraiture of quiet moments to share thoughts and ideas about life. By developing a unique style through aqua-media on art panels, the paintings are reflections of observations, sharing stories through silent figural expressions, using tendrils of hair coiled in frustration, or eyes defined by colored thoughts. Each painting has a contemporary look reaching out to touch the viewer and engage imagination. My style is continuously evolving through dedication and experimentation, while seeking a connection into the human soul.
