Lize Krüger is a contemporary visual artist working primarily with digital collage. Based in Wales, her practice combines drawing, photography, and layered digital processes to explore themes of vulnerability, endurance, and the body as a site of witness. Her work often occupies the threshold between protection and exposure, using semi-transparent figures, floral motifs, and skeletal forms to examine what persists beneath the surface. Shaped by movement and adaptation, her digital practice allows for a mobile studio and an intuitive, process-led approach.

I work from fragments of memory, body, and image that resist fixed meaning. My process is intuitive primarily, moving through drawing, photography, layering, erasure, and return. Images often pass through several digital stages, not as refinement but as searching. The figures in my work are not portraits but embodiments of vulnerability, endurance, and quiet resilience. Bodies appear semi-transparent, layered with flowers, skeletal forms, veins, or cartographic lines. All elements that point to what is carried beneath the surface rather than what is indicated. Much of the work exists at the threshold between safety and danger, protection and exposure. Flowers suggest care and impermanence; skeletal structures speak of truth rather than death. What remains when illusion falls away. Working digitally allows my studio to travel, reflecting a life shaped by movement and adaptation.
