Sabra Skutt-Morman (b. 1988) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores themes of resilience, memory, and transformation. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Sabra navigated life with a physical disability that shaped her perspective from an early age. Encouraged by her mother, a dedicated nurse, she developed a deep sense of determination and adaptability, which later became central to her artistic practice. Sabra’s early exposure to the arts began with ballet training at the Detroit Windsor Dance Academy, fostering her love for movement and expression. Despite personal hardships, including the loss of her father to a brain tumor and major hip surgery during her youth, she found solace in art. These experiences, coupled with a rigorous education at prestigious institutions, reinforced her commitment to storytelling through visual media. She pursued her studies at the University of Dayton, where she honed her skills in fine art and psychology. The loss of her mother in 2014, followed by the passing of her stepfather in 2017, deepened her resolve to build a creative career rooted in personal narrative and community engagement. Sabra’s work has been exhibited in various galleries and public spaces, known for its intricate details and hand-placed embellishments, including diamonds and other mixed-media elements. After establishing herself in Detroit, she expanded her reach to Washington, D.C., securing residency that allowed her to present her work to a broader audienc
