Portrait of Tam Huy

Tamhuy: A Symphony of Inner Landscapes Tamhuy, a contemporary abstract painter, was born in Hanoi, Vietnam, and now resides in Paris. His work falls within the realm of gestural abstraction, where energy and movement take center stage. Through bold brushstrokes and a vibrant palette, Tamhuy explores themes of rhythm, inner landscapes, and metaphysical concepts, often delving into the realm of spiritual awakening. His paintings transcend simple visual representation, becoming instead symphonic expressions of color and movement that capture the essence of intangible emotions and the artist's own spiritual journey. Tamhuy's artistic foundation was solidified at the École de beaux-arts de Versailles, where he received an honorary degree in 2017, followed by continued graduate studies in 2018. His work draws inspiration from masters such as Claude Monet, Joan Mitchell, Kikuo Saito, Kazuo Shiraga, Willem de Kooning, and Zao Wou-ki, reflecting a deep engagement with the history of abstraction while forging his own unique artistic voice.

"My paintings are a blend of discipline and freedom, of stillness and noise. On the journey to find balance between these opposing forces, I learn to transcend my own limitations to embrace everything and immerse myself in life."
