Yael Ben Yashar Artistic photographer. Born in 1966 in Jerusalem. Studied photography at the "Glitz" photography school. Photographs landscapes, nature, and cultures, all over the world and especially in Israel. Presents her works in exhibitions and galleries in Israel and around the world. She presented a solo exhibition at the Jerusalem Theater in April 2023, and a solo exhibition in Philadelphia, USA, at the "Kahel Kadosh Mikveh Israel" synagogue in May 2025. Her photos appear in the photo albums of the Israeli Photographic Association. She received a certificate of appreciation for artistic achievement from the Luxembourg Art Museum for the years 2022-2024. Her photos appeared on the covers of "Nofshim" magazine. She was selected among the 20 finalists for the Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography, in the Photographer of the Year competition for 2023.

Yael Ben Yashar, Artist Statement My favorite genre of photography is landscapes. Both Israeli landscapes and landscapes from different parts of the world. Millions of people travel from place to place every year to see new landscapes. Landscapes are the most natural and pleasant way to experience a variety of emotions - peace, pleasure, excitement, and renewal. Nature and landscape photographs are pleasant and optimistic, sometimes even breathtaking, and allow viewers to be moved by the beauty of creation. I chose to make the beautiful and special landscapes accessible, even to those who cannot reach the unique places. My photography is realistic and true to reality, and as such it conveys the experience to the viewer in the most original way, while considering composition and other aesthetic laws. Shutter speed changes allow me to express different situations in nature. If I want to freeze a situation, I shoot at a high shutter speed, and if I want to create a sense of movement, smearing, or "flattening" water to create a reflection, I shoot at a slow shutter speed. Most of my photos are taken in full daylight, and a few in the dark, almost always without external lighting (flash).
